Hola!
It has been a veritable heatwave here in Futa! One of our guests this week said it registered 91 degrees in her tent... and the tents tend to be much cooler than the great outdoors here as they are shaded and breezy. So, that is WILD. There are some fires in the area and now we are actually praying for some rain.
Alex went fly-fishing this morning in one of his "secret spots" on the Futaleufú and caught the biggest fish of his recently born fly fishing career. So big he couldn't bring it in... thought it would break the rod! One of those fat football looking rainbow trout! Anyway - no, we don't have photos as it was a solo mission, but he was VERY psyched and is mildly obsessed with fly-fishing. To say the very least.
We have been going to our land on the Futa and cleaning it up a bit. Alex and Jorge cut brush and invasive species with chainsaws and I shear and rake paths... fun fun fun! The photo attached is of me looking out at the river through our new viewing area. Also, on the main blog page is a photo taken this morning of me and Alex with the expanding belly. I couldn't fit into my kayak yesterday! Had to rip out all the hip pads just to get INTO it... nice.
Anyway ! I will be posting more photos of Alex on the river and river life... but haven't been able to get them yet... I will!
Hope all is great with you lovely family and friends!
Lots of love from south of south,
Liz
